I have got through 2 batteries at my own expense and have extended warranty on my machine so I sent it in.
Hi, I am using win 7 on my Dell inspiron. I think there are multiple reasons why this could come up. At least it does so far, anyway.. I just tried what Eddy said with a little variation. My battery message went away completely and has not returned. I just switched to Windows 7 about a month ago. It never did anything like this before. My battery is only a little over a year old too.
What should I do? Having similar issues, W7 started reporting that the battery needed to be replaced. The battery would run down quicker and quicker……. That is until I re-installed W7 from scratch. I have had significant better battery life again. After about 6 weeks the battery replacement came back again, and battery life went down pretty quick again. I never had this problem for over 9 months. This message started surfacing from 8th of January Dont know if it is a problem with one of the patches released by MS or???
I have had my Gateway NV52 since November of So its only been around a year and two months and I started getting this message yesterday. I always had my battery in my laptop and I had the power source plugged into it most of the time. I think that might be part of the problem.
I would only have the power source plugged into the computer when it was powered on and I would take it out everytime I turned the cpu off. I also never leave the cpu on overnight. I did as chris said: change the power plan to never shut down and it worked! I was convinced it was a software problem. This laptop is just under a year old bought it last August. Is the battery just recovering from its little shock or should I seriously consider replacing it? When I took off the battery and put it on again, it disappeared.
