My sims sky heroes wii ign

Multiple attempts to find online games over the past week yielded no results for me. This is the first time a MySims game has appeared on a non-Nintendo console, but unfortunately that doesn't come through in the visuals. Even though the game has a very specific, cartoony style, the graphics still don't look any better than they do on the Wii.

The story mode is missing the clever writing that I enjoyed in some of the previous MySims games, and the lack of variety in the missions makes most of them feel like a chore. Was this article informative? YES NO. In This Article. In MySims SkyHeroes, players take to the sky to lead the resistance against Morcubus and his drone army and to stop his plans to take over the skyways. Cartoon Violence.

There are essentially two things to do in SkyHeroes: race and dogfight the airplane kind, not the Michael Vick kind. Both of these modes include a number of power-ups peppered through each environment to keep things interesting.

Unlike the console versions, the Nintendo DS version has some goofy power-ups that fit the tone of the game better, such as the Goo Gun, which will enshroud you or your enemies in a big splotch of purple goo. The gameplay on the DS is much more "hardcore" than that on the consoles. The different planes actually have different stats, so it makes a difference which one you choose, and you will lose health if you run into something.

In addition, both your speed boost and your guns take away from your "Frenergy" meter, meaning you can't do either for very long, and you have to constantly pick up rocket power-ups in order to fire missiles. All of these things combined make the DS version way less fun to play than the console versions. These gameplay choices also seem to be really misguided considering the target audience is kids. The game has a single-player story mode, but it's just about as boring and repetitive as you can get.

Lots of plain, uninspired dialogue between racing and dogfighting missions, which themselves don't really change except for the environment, makes up the bulk of the story mode. There are a few different missions thrown in here and there, where, for example, you have to blow up a specific weapon, but they're not enough to keep things interesting.

All of that said, story is not the most important thing in a game like this. Dogfighting and racing are best when you've got lots of real people competing, and SkyHeroes supports up to four players locally and over the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection.

There's nothing revolutionary about the multiplayer, but it can be fun if you don't mind the annoyances of the gameplay. At this point, though, unless you've already got long distance friends at the ready, online play doesn't seem to be much of an option.

My Sims Sky Heroes Preview. Butterfly in the sky, I can fly twice as high. By Kristine Steimer Updated: 8 May am. Then, after I was briefed on the title, I realized it was more like ModNation Racers with airplanes instead of cars. Players can create their own Sim and customize their planes. Like ModNation, this could be a great game to find really creative user generated content.

In the campaign mode you start out as a nobody pilot and level up to unlock new parts for your plane and Sim. The parts aren't just for show -- they also help you defeat your enemies. I haven't seen the creator in action, so I'm not sure how easy it is to modify your plane or Sim, but this is a game designed for kids so I hope it's simple.
