Certain issues potentially resulting in BSOD were fixed in newer builds. Unfortunately, you didn't specify which version you're using so I can only recommend installing the latest release build 4. Should the problem persist, we'll need to get a kernel or complete memory dump generated when BSOD occurs. Please find instructions for configuring generation of memory dumps here.

I strictly followed the instruction from Paragon for do the partition and install a new O. All the items in Device Manager are upgraded. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.
Hard Drive Pavilion. Partition F.. Partition F. Triple6 Rob. Joined Dec 26, Messages 52, FYI, I've edited your post. You specified a font size that was way too small, you may get more help if people can actually see what you type. You really do not need to specify the font type or size. The standard is actually much more readable. Also if you do want to use code, you do not have to specify it for each individual line but you can do it for an entire block of text. You can't disable ACPI in one operating system and expect it to have any effect on another operating system, not that you can trough Task Manager anyway as its a driver.
A driver or program under one operating system has zero effect on another operating system. If your laptop does not have it then that was a choice by HP. What is the middle of setup? Is it when the CD is still loading drivers on a slid blue screen, is it after it starts copying files to the CD, or is it after the first reboot after copying the files? Also which exact DV7xxx do you have? If there are no corrupted files, then it is an issue of the driver.
Now, what you can do check if the drivers are updated to their latest version. If not, then uninstall the drivers and reboot. The drivers will be updated to their latest versions. This is most likely to solve the problem.
Try to uninstall and reinstall your antivirus. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Follow the normal uninstall process. I ran the Windows scan and it didn't find anything. I was trying to run a Norton software check which is supposed to run in the safe mode and that is when this happened. I may have inadvertantly done something incorrect; I don't know what. Is this enough information for someone to help me fix this problem or do I need to take it to someone smarter than I am?
Once the menu appears select "Last Known Good Configuration". See if Windows XP starts correctly. If it does restart the PC again and make sure it goes in normally.
The second thing you want to do is enter recovery console and run a check disk. Allow ChkDsk to run and fix any errors.
