The Dell site doesn't give you the operating system option for Vista, but in the details it says that the driver is compatible with Vista.
Are you running an upgrade or a clean install? I ran an upgrade on my and I don't have any issues with drivers.
The upgrade advisor said that the ALPS touchpad driver was incompatible, but I installed it anyway and it works perfectly. It gave me the same message as when I tried to install it on Vista. It asked if I wanted to run the program anyway. I just checked the box next to "don't show this message again" and clicked "run program anyway".
Haven't had any issues with Windows 7 yet. Also, try just installing the same display driver, as well as the same audio driver. I used the drivers that were installed on this computer when I received it. They worked for Vista somehow, now they're working in 7.
I messed with it for hours trying to get it to work, but never found anything that worked.
